Craig Mazin (b. April 8, 1971 Brooklyn, New York City, New York) is an American screenwriter, director, and producer best known for his work on Scary Movie 3 and Scary Movie 4. After college, where he ran the public affairs radio program, and an internship at FOX, Mazin got his start in entertainment at The William Morris Agency. The job was bottom rung but he eventually moved on to copy writing. Writing ads helped him learn the art of writing for production.
Mazin was hired by Disney marketing exec Oren Aviv to write copy for movie posters. Oren encouraged Mazin to come up with ideas for movies. Inspired by Apollo 13 he came up with the idea for a comedic version Space Cadet which was considered good enough to be made into RocketMan. Mazin has been writing ever since. His upcoming films include Scary Movie 5 and Superhero!.
