Constantine is a 2005 fantasy/horror film. John Constantine is a man doomed to an early death from lung cancer, after which he can look forward to an eternity in Hell due to a suicide attempt he made as a youth. Now he seeks redemption before his death by using his occult senses and knowledge to exorcise demons. John is pulled into a battle with the demon Belthazar who seems to be violating the rules of a demon's access to the earthly plain. The film is based on the long running Vertigo comic book series Hellblazer. The film starred Keanu Reeves stars in the title role of John Constantine.

The film has a good plot, and Reeves does a decent job hiting most of the creepy themes of the comic book, despite the Americanization of the quintissentially British working class adult comic book character.
