Comics

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

Comics are an American-originated artform that tell a story through a combination of drawings, usually but not always colored; and words, both dialogue for the characters portrayed, and narrative description. Comics have flourished since early in the 20th century, but have struggled for respect as a medium of expression, too often being dismissed as "for children." Comics cover every topic from the most mundane to tales of superheroes.

Comics could also be treated as a sub-category of Art but since they have a huge and devoted audience and because the subjects created in comics have had an enormous impact on the development of Sci fi in many other media, they are being recognized as a top-level category in their own right.
