Clifford Evans (February 17, 1912 – June 9, 1985) Welsh stage actor, in films since 1936. After portraying the step-father of Oliver Reed’s doomed lycanthrope in Hammer’s The Curse of the Werewolf (1960), he proved himself a worthy stand-in for Professor Van Helsing as the fanatical vampire hunter Professor Zimmer in The Kiss of the Vampire (1962), from the same studio.
