Cimmeria is a fictional planet on The SCI FI Channel's TV series Stargate SG-1. Populated with humans originally from Earth, Cimmeria is one of several planets included in the Asgard Protected Planets treaty. The planet is feared among the Goa'uld, as it holds Thor's Hammer, an Asgard technology capable of detecting and removing Goa'uld symbiotes. The planet is also home to the Hall of Thor's Might, a cave where Cimmerians are tested to see if they have reached a suitable level of advancement to interact with the Asgard as they really are, rather than as the benevolent Norse gods the Cimmerians assume them to be.

Key Episodes

"Thor's Hammer"—Jack O'Neill and Teal'c are transported to an underground cavern, which Teal'c is not permitted to leave unless he gives up his symbiote.

"Thor's Chariot"—The SG-1 team returns to Cimmeria and discovers that the son of Ra, Heru'ur has taken over.
