Christopher Walken (b. Ronald Walken on March 31, 1943) is an Academy Award-winning American actor from Queens, New York to German immigrant Paul Walken and mother Rosalie both bakers. Walker has two brothers, Ken and Glenn. He trained as a dancer before turning his attention to theater. Walken is known for playing dark characters and some of his more memorable turns include his Oscar winning appearance in The Deer Hunter, Johnny Smith in Stephen King's The Dead Zone and the angel Gabriel in The Prophecy. He was nominated for an Oscar a second time in 2002 for his performance in Catch Me If You Can. Walken is also an award-winning stage actor. He won a Clarence Derwent Award for his role in The Lion in Winter and Obie for his performance in Kid Champion in 1975.
