Christopher Guy Denis Lambert (b. March 29, 1957) is an American-born, French actor born in Great Neck, Long Island, New York. He is best known for his role as Connor MacLeod in the movie Highlander.
Though born in the United States, Lambert is the son of French parents. His mother was a psychiatrist and his father a diplomat at the United Nations. He spent his youth in Geneva before moving to Paris at 16. He studied acting at the Paris Conservatoire and made his film debut in the French film The Telephone Bar. He appeared in several other French films before his breakout role as John Clayton/Tarzan in Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes in 1984. In 1986 he starred in his most popular role as Connor MacLeod in Highlander. He also starred in three sequels, Highlander II: The Quickening, Highlander III: The Sorcerer and Highlander: Endgame. He also made a guest appearance on the series Highlander.
Other genre roles include Nirvana, Fortress, Fortress 2, Beowulf, Absolon, À ton image, Metamorphosis, and Southland Tales.
Personal Life
Lambert married actress Diane Lane in 1988. They had a daughter, Eleanor Jasmine, born in 1993. They divorced in 1994. He married Jaimyse Haft in February 1999.
