Christopher Golden (b. July 15, 1967) was born and raised in Massachusetts, where he still lives with his wife and three children. After twelve years in Catholic school, he attended Tufts University, graduating with honors. His first book was as editor of the non-fiction study Cut! Horror Writers on Horror Film (1992), which won the Bram Stoker Award. Golden is the author of such novels as Of Saints and Shadows, Strangewood, The Ferryman, Straight on ’Til Morning, The Boys Are Back in Town, Wildwood Road, the Prowlers series, The Veil trilogy, and the Body of Evidence series of teen thrillers (several co-written with Rick Hautala). Working with actress/writer/director Amber Benson, he co-created and co-wrote Ghosts of Albion, an animated supernatural drama for BBC Online, which is now a book series from Del Rey. With Thomas E. Sniegoski, he is the co-author of the dark fantasy series The Menagerie as well as the YA fantasy series OutCast. Golden and Sniegoski also wrote the graphic novel BPRD: Hollow Earth, a spin-off from the fan favorite comic book series Hellboy. Golden has authored the original Hellboy novels, The Lost Army and The Bones of Giants, and edited two Hellboy anthologies. He has also written or co-written (many with Nancy Holder) numerous novels, non-fiction guides, video games and comic books set in the world of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. His other media tie-ins include X-Men, Daredevil and Justice League, along with the novelization of King Kong (2005). There are more than eight million copies of his books in print.
