Children of Men is a 2006 thriller from director Alfonso Cuarón. The film is loosely based on the P.D. James novel The Children of Men. Children of Men was produced by Universal Pictures and filmed in London. It made its debut on September 3, 2006 at the Venice Film Festival andopened in British theaters on September 22. Children of Men opened in limited release in US theaters on December 29.

Plot
In the year 2027, the human female population has become infertile for unknown reasons and no child has been born since 2009. Nuclear war has devastated much of the planet and pollution has become overwhelming. Britain alone stands in some semblance of order but constantly suffers terrorist attacks. All refugees and illegal immigrants are imprisoned and slated for deportation.
When a lone woman, a refugee, is discovered to be pregnant, an activist agrees to keep her safe and transport her to a hospital ship where scientists hope to reverse the infertility and save the world. But before they can do that they must escape those who want to use them as a political tool, and survive conflicts between refugees and armed forces.
