Charles Nelson Reilly

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

Charles Nelson Reilly (January 13, 1931 The Bronx, New York City, New York - May 25, 2007) was an American actor and voice artist.

Nelson's unique delivery, especially his half-swallowed laugh, served him well. The characters he portrayed were often exasperated with the people around him.

Mainstream audiences may know him best for The Match Game, where his dry wit contrasted with the common person quality of Brett Sommers.

Genre fans first got to know him in the television version of The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, in which he played Claymore Gregg. In 1971, he was the evil magician Horatio J. Hoodoo in the wild Sid and Marty Krofft series with anthropomorphic chapeaus, Lidsville. He followed that up with Uncle Croc's Block, a parody of children's television series.

In the 1990s, he reached a new audience as Jose Chung on The X-Files, a role he repeated in Millenium.

His voice work brought him into the worlds of Spongebob Squarepants, Goofy (Goof Troop), and Disney's Hercules.
