Centaur

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

Centaurs are a race of creatures in Greek mythology, said to be half man and half horse. They are said to be descendants of Centaurus and the Magnesian mares.

They have also been part of many Sci Fi works. Throughout the Xanth series of books by Piers Anthony, centaurs have played an important role. One of the books in that series is named Centaur Isle. Centaurs appeared in Sam Raimi's Hercules: The Legendary Journeys series, and have done so in other Hercules related works. They have also been a part of the Harry Potter series.

A "centauroid", for lack of a better word, fights Sinbad in Ray Harryhausen's The Golden Voyage of Sinbad. While part horse, the other half in this case was a cyclops.
