Cecil B. DeMille

Cecil Blount DeMille (b. August 12, 1881, — January 21, 1959) is a prolific American producer and director born in Ashfield, Massachusetts to Henry C. DeMille and Beatrice DeMille, both playwrights. DeMille is well known for his directing work on the classic films The Ten Commandments and Samson and Delilah. DeMille also produced 1934's Cleopatra and was and uncredited producer on When Worlds Collide , The War of the Worlds and The Greatest Show on Earth.
