oueltc An anthology is a compilation of works by multiple authors. In literature, an anthology is a book that contains short fiction, poetry, or articles by two or more contributors. Publishers distinguish anthologies from collections, which are compilations of stories by a single author (or partnership of authors who write together).

A shared world anthology contains stories by various authors set in the same time and place; an example is the Thieves World series.

In TV, an anthology series is a TV series in which the individual episodes are unrelated, such as The Twilight Zone.
