Casper Van Dien (b. December 18, 1968) is an American actor. He appeared in the film version of Starship Troopers and various horror movies in the 1990s and 2000s.

Born in Milton, Florida, he was named after his Father. He is the 6th generation of Diens to carry the first name of Casper; his son is the 7th.

Dien was well familiar with military life before he was cast as Johnny Rico in Starship Troopers. He was raised in a military family; his father was a pilot with the Navy and achieved the rank of Commander. In addition, both of his grandfathers also served in the military; one in the infantry, the other as a doctor. Finally, Dien attended Admiral Farragut military academy in Florida and graduated third in his class.

Married to actress, Catherine Oxenberg, he has two children, Casper and Grace.
