Carl Laemmle, Jr. (April 28, 1908 – September 24, 1979) is an American film producer born in Chicago, Illinois. Son of Carl Laemmle, Sr., the German-born founder of Universal Pictures, he became General Manager in Charge of Production at the studio at the age of 21. After supervising such classics as Dracula (1930), Frankenstein (1931), The Old Dark House (1932), The Mummy (1933), The Invisible Man (1933), The Black Cat (1934), Bride of Frankenstein (1935) and Werewolf of London (1935), he “resigned” in 1936 when the studio was sold by his father.
