Carl Laemmle)
Carl Laemmle, Sr. (1867-1939) was the founder of Universal Studios.
Laemmle opened his first nickelodeon theater in 1906. Three years later, he established the Independent Moving Picture Company of America, thus becoming involved in all three phases of film: production, distribution, and exhibition. On March 15, 1915, Laemmle officially opened the gates to Universal City, the world's first self-contained community dedicated to moviemaking.
His son, Carl Laemmle, Jr., was also a film producer.

It's usually best to give a very general overview to a story first, then plot details. When including the plot or essential details in your article (which could ruin the pleasure of discovery for some readers), it is important to include the spoiler tag before any give-away material.
