Caprica is planned 2009 television series under development by Ronald D. Moore and Remi Aubuchon for NBC Universal Television. The series began development in 2006 and finally received the greenlight from the SCI FI Channel for production of a pilot in 2008.

The show is a prequel to the 2005 Battlestar Galactica series and is set 50 years prior to the events of Galactica. It centers on two rival families, the Graystones and the Adamas, and their lives on the planet Caprica where a breakthrough in artificial intelligence will forever change their world. The two-hour pilot will be filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia and directed by Jeff Reiner. SCI FI plans to decide in 2009, whether they will order episodes, transforming the Pilot into a series, to air in 2009.
