Campy science fiction and fantasy purposefully plays off a supposed low-quality reputation of some sci fi works for a humorous effect. It often has large cult followings. Example of camp sci fi are the Evil Dead series by Sam Raimi and the 1975 movie, Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
