The Cambodian Wildman is either a hitherto-unknown cryptid or perhaps just a man in the wild.
Locals in the village of Rattanakiri, Cambodia, have found themselves at ground zero of a cryptozoology mystery. According to eyewitness accounts, an apelike wild man and a naked woman were spotted running through the outskirts of the village. The woman was captured by the villagers but the wild man escaped. The woman was identified by a man in the village as his daughter, who disappeared, along with her sister, approximately 18 years earlier while herding buffalo. The man instantly recognized the woman as his missing daughter by a scar on her arm from a knife wound she suffered as a small girl.
The woman's sudden reappearance from the forest created an international media frenzy, yet the local police refused to search for the wild man who is presumably still at large in the Cambodian jungle.
After living with her father for ten months, the woman returned to the jungle, leaving her mother and father devastated. Some experts say that this woman and the wild man are simply Cambodian people who escaped the wrath of the Khmer Rouge twenty years ago and never returned to civilization.
