Bureau of Investigation of UFOs

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

The Bureau of Investigation of UFOs is an organization referred to in the cult favorite movie The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The character Dr. Everett Scott, a scientist and former science teacher at Denton High School, is accused of being a member of this bureau.

Spoiler Warning: Plot details and/or information about the ending follow. If you wish to enjoy the work first, stop reading here and return at another time.

The film gives some hints that this accusation may be true. For instance, Dr. Scott concludes that his nephew has fallen in with aliens, indicating his willingness to believe in the ETH (Extra-Terrestrial Hypothesis). When discussing the sonic transducer, he refers to work done by "we ourselves," which could indicate that he is part of a secret governmental research team, although he may be referring to Earthlings in general.

Outside of the world of the film, there have been publicly acknowledged governmental organizations that investigated UFO sightings (most notably, Project Blue Book), but none of these organizations have been named the Bureau of Investigation of UFOs.
