Buena Vista Distribution

Buena Vista Distribution is the film and television distribution wing of The Walt Disney Company. The film distributor was the third largest domestic film distributor in 2006 and was responsible for distributing such films as Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and Cars. Buena Vista International is responsible for international distribution while Buena Vista Home Entertainment distributes videos and DVD entertainment.

Buena Vista originates with Buena Vista Street, the address of the Walt Disney Studios. The Disney company's founders Walt and Roy Disney founded the company after a dispute over Disney's True-Life Adventures led them to distribute their own products. The name was later applied to its music and software publishing divisions. Buena Vista's first film release was The Living Desert.

Buena Vista distributes features produced by Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, Hollywood Pictures, DisneyToon Studios, ABC Television Studio, Miramax Films, Pixar Animation Studios and independent studios such as Spyglass Entertainment.

Buena Vista's television division is responsible for the syndication of several popular series like The Golden Girls, and Boy Meets World.
