"Bronzer" is a nickname for a fan of TV's Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spinoff, Angel, as well as its creator, Joss Whedon, and the various writers and producers who created the two series and subsequent shows and movies, particularly Whedon's Firefly and Serenity.
The Bronzers derive their name from the original posting board, or bulletin board, that was a feature of the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer Web site as hosted by The WB at the time, and later migrated to UPN's Web site when Buffy changed networks. The posting board was called The Bronze, after the all-ages club featured in Buffy. The Bronze was the gathering place in Sunnydale, the fictitious California city in which Buffy was set, for the "Scooby Gang," the main characters of the series.
