Plot

On a visit to a beautiful planet known as Argos, SG-1 comes across a young woman in the midst of giving birth. Daniel helps deliver the baby and in gratitude they name him Dan'el. The Argosians worship the Greek hero Pelops as their god and Daniel believes Pelops was a goa'uld who brought them to Argos long ago.

SG-1 enjoys the hospitality of the Argosians and one of the women Kynthia takes an interest to Jack. When night falls, all the Argosians immediately fall asleep, as does Jack. In the morning, they all wake at the same time.

They soon come across the woman they'd helped before and she introduces him to Dan'el who is now a toddler. Their investigations lead them to realize the Argosians have a life span of only a hundred days, something they believe to be normal. Jack appears to have been infected with whatever the Argosians have and begins to age quickly.

SG-1 returns to the SGC hoping to find a cure. Carter discovers the source of the problem is nanocytes, tiny robots in the bloodstream of Jack and the Argosians. It was a part of Pelops' experiment in which he used the Argosians as guinea pigs. They have no means of curing Jack.

On Argos, Jack and Kynthia, whom Jack has unknowingly married, walk beyond the border of the village and stay awake throughout the night. Jack realizes that there must be a transmitter in the village controlling the nanocytes. They return to the village and the transmitter is found in the statue of Pelops which Jack overturns.

With the transmitter destroyed, the Argosians will live long normal human lives. Jack's aging begins to reverse itself. The nanocytes only imitated aging and now that they've been deactivated, his immune system begins to repair the damage.
