Bride of Frankenstein (aka The Bride of Frankenstein) is the 1935 movie sequel to Frankenstein.

It's rare that a sequel is considered superior to the original. Before The Empire Strikes Back, before Godfather II, there was Bride of Frankenstein.

While not the first movie sequel, it was the first of the Universal horror cycle, and led to several more in the series. It's success inspired sequels to Dracula, The Mummy, and The Invisible Man. Arguably, if it had flopped, we might not see the sorts of franchises we do today.

May of the original cast and crew were brought back for the sequel, which followed the original by four years. However, the feel is quite a bit a different. The first movie was perceived as quite horrific, scary enough to get a restrictive rating in England. The sequel had quite a bit more humor, with tiny humunculi in little costumes appearing too ridiculous to be really frightening.

It's usually best to give a very general overview to a story first, then plot details. When including the plot or essential details in your article (which could ruin the pleasure of discovery for some readers), it is important to include the spoiler tag before any give-away material.
