Brian Herbert

Brian Herbert (b. 1947) is an American author and the eldest son of well known author Frank Herbert. Herbert's family moved 23 times before he graduated high school, which he graduated at 16. He also married young and attended UCLA where he received his BA in sociology. With wife Jan, he had three daughters, Julie, Kimberly, and Margaux.

Herbert's career has spanned a variety of fields. In addition to his work as an author and editor, he has also served as a business manager, a creative consultant for television, and a board game inventor. He did not begin his writing career until he was almost thirty years old and made his debut with the humorous collections, Incredible Insurance Claims and Classic Comebacks. Among his best science fiction work is the continuation of his fathers Dunes series, on which he worked with Kevin J. Anderson. Other work includes his Timeweb series Sidney's Comet and Sudanna, Sudanna.
