Brian Clemens (b. 1931) British writer and producer who set the style with some of the best episodes of TV’s The Avengers (1961-1969) and The New Avengers (1977-79). Although much of his other work has never risen above TV movie-quality, he did script two of Hammer’s most imaginative projects, Dr. Jekyll & Sister Hyde (1971) and Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter (1972), the latter also marking his sole directorial credit. His other credits include The Tell-Tale Heart (1960), And Soon the Darkness (1970), See No Evil (1971), The Golden Voyage of Sinbad (1973) and Disney’s The Watcher in the Woods (1980).
