Quantum of Solace is the 22nd film in the James Bond film franchise. It is set to star Daniel Craig as Bond and to open during the July 4th holiday weekend in 2008. Judi Dench reprises her rule as M.
"Bond 22" is based upon the Ian Fleming short story, Risico, which appeared in the book of short stories, For Your Eyes Only.
The film is expected to be shorter than previous Bond films with intense action sequences.

Plot
In the original Risico as written by Fleming, Bond is sent by M to investigate an Italian drug-smuggling operation responsible for bringing heroin into England.
While there, Bond meets up with a CIA agent called Aristotle Kristatos. Together they try to take down Enrico Colombo, the local mob boss. But Bond is captured by Colombo's henchman. While in captivity aboard the yacht, Colombina, Bond is told that Kristatos, is actually the one behind the Italian drug cartel.
Bond also meets, and pursues Lisl Baum, Kristatos' German girlfriend.
Colombo and Bond then team up to take out Kristatos in the port of Santa Maria. Bond corners Kristatos in a warehouse during the loading of a shipment of drugs. Bond shoots and kills Kristatos as he tries to escape.
Although the plot of the original Risico story is detailed above, as with 2006's Casino Royale, the producers are expected to drastically change the details of the story to update the half-century-old thriller into a 21st-Century post-9/11 tale.
