Blake's 7 is a British Sci Fi TV series, created by Terry Nation, who gained great fame as the creator of the maniacal Daleks from Doctor Who. The program originally ran on the flagship station of the British Broadcasting Company, BBC 1, from 1978 to 1981.

Premise

Roj Blake is a former freedom fighter whose popularity makes him politically impossible for the oppressive government of the Earth Federation to execute. He has been drugged and forced to publicly declare the error of his ways. However, when the drugs fail to keep him permanently in submission, he is falsely accused of crimes against children and shunted off to a remote prison planet.

On the way to Blake's incarceration, the prison transport encounters a strange ship adrift in space. When the transport stops to investigate, Blake and his fellow prisoners sense an opportunity. They escape their bonds and seize the strange ship, only to find that their new vessel is radically advanced beyond anything they have seen before. Eager to use the ship as a tool in his fight against the Federation, Blake quickly christens it The Liberator...
