Birds of Prey (October 9, 2002 – February 19, 2003) was a short-lived action adventure series that aired on the WB during the Fall 2002 season. The series was created by David Carson and based loosely on the comic Birds of Prey (published by DC Comics) and set in Gotham City of the Batman universe. The series was canceled after airing only thirteen episodes.
Premise
In the future, Batman has disappeared from Gotham. Unknown to him, Catwoman had his child, a daughter, Helena Kyle, a half metahuman girl who becomes the superhero known as Huntress. She fights alongside Oracle who was once Batgirl before an accident in the fight against The Joker left her a paraplegic. The pair take in a young girl, Dinah who has run away from home and is determined to fight crime. Dinah is also a metahuman just beginning to explore her abilities to open hidden doors in the mind. Later it was revealed that Dinah's mother is the superhero Black Canary. Together, the three women are the Birds of Prey dedicated to fighting crime in Gotham.
