Beyond the Sea is episode 13 of The X-Files season 1

Synopsis

Deathrow inmate Luthor Lee Bogs is slated for execution in a week but claims he is able to make contact with the souls of two missing college students. In exchange, he wants his sentence reduced. Though both Mulder and Scully are both initially skeptical, Scully begins to wonder if Bogs may be telling the truth as he seems to know details about her recently deceased father he shouldn't.
