In the TV series Bewitched, Elizabeth Montgomery played Samantha Stevens, the perkiest witch ever to hit television. Her mortal husband, Darrin Stevens, was played by Dick York for the first five years of the series, then by Dick Sargent for the remaining years. Other important roles included Darrin's boss, Larry Tate (David White), Samantha's mother, Endora (Agnes Moorehead), and the Stevens' adorable tyke, Tabitha (played by twin sisters Diane and Erin Murphy). The series ran from 1964 to 1972, then proceeded to provide infinite rewatchability through re-runs, as generations of viewers fell for the naughty sparkle in Sam's eye.

Follow-Ups

• A spin-off series focusing on a grown-up Tabitha, and featuring her brother Adam, ran in the 1977 fall season. Bernard Fox reprised his role as Dr. Bombay.
• In 2005, a movie version was produced, with Nicole Kidman taking the role of Samantha, and Will Ferrell pinch-hitting for Darrin.
