Ben Chapman (October 29, 1925 Oakland, California - February 21, 2008) Tahitian-American actor who donned the Gill Man costume for the land scenes in The Creature from the Black Lagoon (1953). As “the original Gillman”, he ended up selling signed photos of himself at conventions and via the Internet.
