Plot

A very old woman is found in suspended animation in a laboratory in the city and surprisingly turns out to be Dr. Wier herself. When she recovers enough to tell her story, the team discovers they owe their survival to time travel. The initial expedition to Atlantis was a failure as their arrival immediately drained remaining power in the city's Zero Point Modules. Instead of rising, as happened in the current timeline, the city flooded and only Dr. Weir and Sheppard survived by launching a puddle jumper. They were immediately shot down by the wraith and Dr. Weir was rescued by the city's inhabitants and discovered she'd traveled 10,000 years into the past prior the Ancients' evacuation. The now destroyed puddle jumper was also a time machine.

She was encouraged to evacuate to Earth with them and denied the option of returning to her time. The ship's inventor, Janus was chastised for defying the council and creating the machine. He is nevertheless overjoyed at Dr. Weir's appearance and decides to help her by devising a failsafe allowing the city to rise to the surface once the ZPMs fail. He placed her in stasis allowing her to awaken periodically over the next ten thousand years to rotate the ZPMs ensuring they would last long enough to secure the safe arrival of the expedition. Janus also gave her a list of planet addresses where ZPMs may be found. Before succumbing to death, the aged weir gave the list to her younger self.
