Battle Angel is a planned 2009 CGI-animated adaptation of Yukita Kishiro's popular manga and characters, Battle Angel Alita. The movie is set in the 26th century, three hundred years after a major war and the subsequent collapse of society. Cyborgs are common and a female cyborg, is rescued from a scrap heap by a scientist. Though she has an organic brain, her body is completely artificial and is repaired by the scientist. Her memory of her previous life is gone and her rescuer becomes a surrogate father.
