Balthazar Getty <span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span> Paul Balthazar Getty (b. January 22, 1975) is an American actor born in Tarzana, California to American Jean Paul Getty III and German Gisela Martine Zacher Getty. He has one half sister Ana, from his mother's previous marriage. Jean and Gisela divorced while Getty was young and, along with his sister, the family moved to San Francisco. Getty may be best remembered for his recurring role on Charmed and his regular appearance on Alias during the series' last season. Getty was spotted by a talent scout in school and auditioned for the role of Ralph in the film version of the novel, Lord of the Flies. He won the part but broke both arms before filming began and appeared in the film in a sling. After Lord of the Flies, he appeared in Showtime's Nightmare Classics, "The Turn of the Screw" and Young Guns II. Getty acted steadily throughout the 90s He appeared in the films December, Natural born Killers, Judge Dredd, Mr. Holland's Opus, White Squall, Lost Highway, Habitat, and Big City Blues. Getty made a guest appearance on The Hunger in 1997 and had a recurring role on the series Charmed as Richard Montana and the series Pasadena as Nate Greeley. Getty currently appears on the ABC series Brothers & Sisters as Tommy Walker. Personal LifeGetty married Rosetta Millington in May 2000 and the couple has a son, Casius Paul Getty and two daughters, Grace and Violet. The couple is expecting two more children, twins in Fall, 2007. The Getty family is of some renown. Balthazar's grandfather, J. Paul Getty is the founder of the Getty Oil company, and the wealthiest man in the world. The wealth has since been dispersed. J. Paul Getty left the majority of his wealth to the The J. Paul Getty Museum. Balthazar's father was kidnapped in 1973 and his ear was cut off in order to ensure the payment of the ransom. Balthazar has also suffered his own difficulties. He developed an addiction to drugs in the late 90s and lost a close friend to overdose. He has since overcome his addiction. Also in the 90s, he formed a band with David Arquette, Thirteen Floor. He was also a founding member of the band Tape and produced songs for the band Mannish.
