The Commonwealth of Australia is the world's smallest continent and is located in the southern hemisphere. The country's capital is Canberra but it's largest and most famous city is Sydney. It is home to many actors including Nicole Kidman, Jacqueline McKenzie and Hugh Jackman. Australia also has a thriving film industry. The TV Series Farscape, The Lost World, and Time Trax as well as the movies Pitch Black, Darkness Falls, and The Matrix trilogy were all filmed in Australia.

Cryptozoology

The Australian hairy biped is called a Yowie. There are reports that the thylacine has survived, both on Tasmania and the mainland. There is a popular water monster referred to as a bunyip, but it does not resemble the typical lake monster.

UFOs

There is a strong tradition of UFO stories and investigation in Australia. One of the most famous in the Valentin Disappearance, in which a pilot and his plane vanished over the Bass Strait after reporting that a UFO was "...coming for me."

Parapsychology

Psychics are part of the popular culture in Australia.
