Attack of the Mayan Mummy is a movie directed by Rafael Portillo and Americanized by Jerry Warren for television in 1964. George Mitchell stars as Dr. Fredrick Munson, the recently fired co-director of the Cowan Research Center in Pasadena. He is replaced by his brother-in-law, Edmund Redding, in the position. Munson learns from his nephew of a secret project using hypnosis to reveal past life experiences. One woman, Ann Taylor (Rosa Arenas) recovers memories of her life among the Aztec. Her memories led to hidden chambers in a great pyramid in the Yucatan. In the process of recovering the treasure, Redding is killed by a mummy responsible for guarding the Aztec valuables. The mummy is captured and brought to Pasadena where Munson conspires to return to the institute. An attempt to steal the mummy to learn its secrets leads to its escape. The creature then makes its way to the home of Ann Taylor.
