An Asteroid is a small celestial body or minor planetoid that typically orbit stars. Usually rocky and without atmosphere, asteroids vary in shape and size. The first discovered asteroid, was Ceres, now classified as a dwarf planet. Most asteroids in the Sol system are located in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.
