The Aschen are an advanced race of humans, on the TV Series Stargate SG-1, who first appeared in the episode "2010". They are several decades ahead of Earth in technology. Their lack of humor, personality, and high intelligence have led some to question whether they are fully human but, by all appearances, they are.

In the episode "2010", the Aschen had defeated the goa'uld and brought advanced technology to Earth, extending human life and solving world hunger. Samantha Carter and Dr. Janet Fraiser soon discovered that the drug used to almost double the human life span also rendered most of the population sterile and would lead to the end of Earth civilization, leaving the planet to the Aschen.
They got SG-1 back together and devised a plan based on their time travel experience in "1969". They sent a simple message back in time through the gate warning their past selves against visiting the planet where they first met the Aschen, P4C-970. General Hammond immediately blocked the address.
Unaware of their future experiences with the Aschen, SG1 encountered the Aschen for the first time in the episode "2001" on P3A-194 former home of the Volian civilization. The Aschen farmed the Volians homeworld, using ships known as Harvesters. They then sent the crop through the Stargate to the Aschen homeworld. The sole Volian SG-1 met on the planet appeared to be happy with the state of events but was unaware of the complete history of his planet.
The Aschen offered Earth technology to defeat the goa'uld, including the harvesters and biological weapons. They also offered membership in the Aschen Confederation in exchange for access to the SGC's list of Stargate addresses.
The Aschen founded the confederation, an alliance of unknown worlds who benefit from all the Aschen have to offer. After discovering an old city below the Volian farms, Daniel discovered the vaccine the Aschen offered rendered the population unable to reproduce. The birthrate gradually dropped and the population slowly died out. The Aschen then terraformed the planets, transforming them into vast farmlands to meet the needs of their world.
Realizing SG-1 had discovered their history and future plans, the Aschen prepared a biological weapon to attack Earth. They were prevented from doing so when Carter escaped and closed the iris before the weapon could come through. O'Neill later revealed that the list of addresses they'd given the Aschen was a list of dangerous planets, the first being a planet slowly being destroyed by a black hole.
