Arthurian legend deals with the world of Avalon, Camelot, King Arthur, Merlin, and the quest for the Holy Grail. The term refers to all legends that revolve around King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. The legend of King Arthur has existed for over a thousand years and continues to be a source of interest for scholars and individuals intrigued by the myth. Some claim that Arthur really existed but many scholars believe that he was a mythic figure, although both he and Merlin may have been based on actual historical figures. Some of the earliest references to King Arthur can be found in The Black Book of Carmarthen, The Book of Taliesin, The White Book of Rhydderch and The Mirabilia of the Historia Brittonum.

It's usually best to give a very general overview to a story first, then plot details. When including the plot or essential details in your article (which could ruin the pleasure of discovery for some readers), it is important to include the spoiler tag before any give-away material.
