SG-1 met Aris Boch on a planet on which Aris had been tracking down a Tok'ra operative. Aris thought that the Tok'ra was Goa'uld and that by tracking him down he was doing no wrong. He also captured SG-1 for the bounty on their heads.
Aris' race of human-like people are immune to Goa'uld blending which made them targets. The Goa'uld neared wiped out the race with the use of a drug called roshna which proved highly addictive and then they needed it to stay alive. Before they parted company, Aris gave Carter a sample of the roshna with the hope that one day a cure could be found for his race so that they would no longer be dependent upon the Goa'uld.
