Ares is a fictional character on the series Stargate Atlantis portrayed by Dominic Zamprogna. Ares is a citizen of the planet M7G-677 and second in command to Keras, the eldest of their community. When Sheppard and his team visited the planet, Keras was approaching the day of his death on his twenty-fourth birthday when he would kill himself according to tradition. Ares became angry because of the team's interference and the delays that prevented Keras' suicide rite and resorted to violence to force the team to leave.
