Animators are filmmakers who make animated movies.

Animation ("giving life") may use drawings, clay, objects, or computer images.

It is possible for animators to work largely by themselves, writing, directing, producing, designing, even voicing their own characters. Alternatively, there may be hundreds of people involved in making an animated film, in which case different job titles (such as Animation Director) may be used.
