Angelina Jolie Voight (b. June 4, 1975, Los Angeles, California) is an Academy Award-winning American actress and celebrity born to actor Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand. Jolie is as well known for her humanitarian work as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees as her appearances in such popular films as Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow and Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Jolie's personal relationships have also become tabloid fodder, from her estrangement with her father, her close relationship with brother James Haven, and her relationships with fellow actors Jonny Lee Miller, Billy Bob Thornton and Brad Pitt.
Among her notable films are Cyborg 2, Hackers with Johnny Lee Miller, her Golden Globe-winning performances as supermodel Gia and institutionalized wild child Lisa Rowe in Girl, Interrupted with Winona Ryder, Original Sin with Antonio Banderas, The Bone Collector with Denzel Washington, Alexander with Anthony Hopkins and Val Kilmer, The Good Shepherd with Matt Damon , A Mighty Heart and Beowulf as the mother of monster, Grendel.
Recent and upcoming films include Wanted based on the Mark Miller and J.G. Jones graphic novel, a voice role in Kung Fu Panda, The Changeling and Atlas Shrugged.
Jolie is the mother of four children, three adopted and one biological child with partner Brad Pitt. She lost her mother, Marcheline Bertrand in 2007 from a long battle with cancer.

It's usually best to give a very general overview first, then specific details. When including the plot or essential details of a story in your article (which could ruin the pleasure of discovery for some readers), it is important to include the spoiler tag before any give-away material.
