Angela worked with The Haitian to protect her granddaughter Claire. When Claire showed up in New York, Angela insisted on taking her to Paris for her protection and convinced Nathan that the move was necessary. Prior to Claire's arrival, neither Peter nor Nathan realized their mother was aware of their hidden talents. Peter's ability was revealed when Mohinder Suresh brought his dead body home to his family. When Claire removed a shard of glass from his head, he awoke, much to his family's relief (".07%").
Peter convinced Claire to stay and play her part in saving New York. Angela counseled Nathan to accept the fact that New York would be partially destroyed and insisted he could do nothing to change it. She was in league with Linderman and Thomson attempting to ensure that those events happened so Nathan could be president.
Angela was a member of the company. Her cohorts included her husband, Linderman, Kaito Nakamura, the father of Matt Parkman, Charles Deveaux, Bob and a few others. She had a relationship with Nakamura in the past, and met with him shortly before his murder after receiving a threatening that featured a split image of them. Her fingerprints at the scene and the statement of Ando Masahashi led to her being brought in by the NYPD for questioning.
She was questioned by Matt Parkman and realized his talent for mind reading and sent him a message to stay out of her mind. Later, in custody, she was attacked by an invisible assailant ("Kindred"). She survived the attack and confessed to Nakamura's murder to end the inquiry that would uncover the existence of the "heroes" ("The Kindness of Strangers").
