Angel-A is a 2005 film from The Fifth Element director Luc Besson. Besson also wrote and produced the film which was filmed in black and white on location in Paris, France and opened first in French theaters on December 21, 2005. The film will make is theatrical debut in New York and Los Angeles on March 23, 2007.

Plot
A con artist, André, returns to Paris hoping to make some quick cash and leave his old life behind for anew one in the United States. His criminal past catches up with however and he soon finds himself being threatened by a criminal who gives him only a few hours to acquire 20,000 Euros to pay his debt and save his life.
Andre seeks the help of old friends but no one will aid him. He can't even get himself arrested for his own safety. Despairing for his future, he is about to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge. He is not the first person with this idea however, a beautiful blond woman is also preparing to throw herself off the same bridge. Unable to convince her to change her mind, she jumps and he follows and rescues her.
He is surprised when the seemingly dead woman, Angela, returns to life and grateful for his help offers him any help he desires. She delivers the money he needs but André is skeptical about her reasons. Angela not only helps him solve his problems but find his own inner goodness. He falls deeply in love with her and must convince her to give up everything to be with him.
