Andy Mikita

Andy Mikita is a Canadian director and producer whose primary work has been on the series Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. His career in film began in the 1980's. He is a cofounder of the Pincher Creek Film Society which assembled filmmakers in Southern Alberta to distribute and produce educational documentaries. He worked at the University of Calgary in the Communications and Media department, honing his technical skills while freelancing as a cameraman and video producer.

He has served as an assistant director on the films Dead Bang, Immediate Family, Stella and Fourth War and the TV Series 21 Jump Street and The Ray Bradbury Series. In the 90's he worked primarily in television as an assistant director on series like Lonesome Dove The Outer Limits and Poltergeist: The Legacy. In addition to his work on Stargate, he's also directed episodes of the Lifetime series Blood Ties.
