Andrew Keir (April 3, 1926 – October 5, 1997) Scottish character actor. The screen’s finest Professor Quatermass (in Hammer’s Quatermass and the Pit (aka Five Million Years to Earth, 1967), a role he recreated for BBC Radio 3’s The Quatermass Memoirs (1996)), and a worthy stand-in for Van Helsing as vampire hunter Father Sandor in Dracula Prince of Darkness (1965). He also replaced Peter Cushing in Blood from the Mummy's Tomb (1971).
