Ancient long-range communication device

The Ancient long-range communication device is a device that was found in Avalon. It consists of a round base topped by a large crystal. The base contains slots for communication stones. The stones can operate independent of the device when activated by someone with the ATA gene. The stones allow two people to share a psychic connection, seeing through each other's eyes. When joined with the base, the minds of those who place the rocks into the base are transferred to other people's bodies but without access to their thoughts or memories. The bodies of the users experience the same vital signs as the bodies they are occupying, such as heart rate and temperature.

Times Used

When a device used by Daniel Jackson and Vala Mal Doran they discovered the problem the Ori would cause if they discovered their galaxy. Unfortunately the Ori discovered the Milky Way galaxy during this use of the device, creating a whole new problem for Stargate Command. The device Stargate Command had was destroyed when they were trying to free Daniel and Vala from it.

Vala also used one on her own when she was in the Ori galaxy but that one was destroyed when an Ori solider blew it up.
