Amanda Peet

Amanda Peet (b. January 11, 1972, New York City, NY) is an American actress born to lawyer and social worker, Charles and Penny. Peet acted mainly as a hobby and while at Columbia University, studied history. She was encouraged to audition for acting coach, Uta Hagen, and studied with her for four years.

Peet made her feature film debut in the scifi action film Animal Room. She landed television roles in Law & Order, Central Park West before devoting herself mainly to film. She appeared in She's the One, One Fine Day, Simply Irresistible and The Whole Nine Yards. She returned to television for the short-lived series Jack & Jill which co-starred Ivan Sergei. In 2003, she appeared in the film Identity with John Cusack, Something's Gotta Give with Jack Nicholson, and in 2005, Syriana with George Clooney. In 2006, she returned to television for the ill-fated Studio 60 on the sunset Strip. Her pregnancy was incorporated in the series which was canceled after only one season. She gave birth to her first child, Daughter, Frances Pen was on February 20, 2007.

In 2007, she appeared with John Cusack in Martian Child'. In 2008 Peet will play a role in the second X-Files movie, The X-Files 2
